How did the cross change worship?

How did the cross change worship, well ultimately this question comes down to the question of what does the cross mean to you? Because its not the cross we worship, we worship the one true living God. So we need to be very careful that we do not worship the fact that Jesus died for us, but rather Jesus himself, keeping in mind what he did for us as a fuel to our worship.

It goes like this,we used to be bound by the old covenant that said that only the priests were able to worship God in the holiest of holy's, but now because Jesus died for us, the covenant was changed. We now have free access to God, we don't need to sacrifice anything, but ourselves in order to let God have all the glory and not ourselves justified by our works.

In Christ we have no condemnation. God does not point His finger and say 'you are a sinner, therefore you can't worship me'. The opposite is true. I see God as a father that is wanting to embrace us with open arms and pour out His love on us. Now, because Jesus died for me, I can stand in a space of repentance and give God the worship He deserves.

The cross didn't change my worship. It defined it.
